Affiliate Promotion Extravaganza went live this morning! And already we
have had many video entries go live!

===========================
HOW TO WIN THE CONTEST
===========================

This contest is very simple - the video with the most views and best
quality wins. So how do you make a video that wins? The ideal would be to
create something that goes viral - ie a video that is so engaging and
compelling that people voluntarily pass it around and tell their friends
about it.

So how do you do that?

Obviously there are a whole host of ways to achieve that, but to get
something that is truly viral you will need to do something that REALLY
stands out. Here are some suggestions (in no particular order):

1. Make a video that is truly informative and instructional. Don't just
create an advertisement, really give people some value that will help them
in their business.

2. Make it funny or zany. This takes careful thought, and can easily miss
the mark if you just do another 'stupid person trying to kill themselves'
video. But create some clever sitcom, witty dialogue, or zany action and
you could do it. You are trying to achieve the "you have got to see this
video, it is SO funny" effect.

3. Make it shocking - the "OMG I can't believe this" type of movie that
gets passed around.

4. Make is sexy - hmm. no, lets not go there.

==========================
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?
==========================

Making something viral is very difficult. So what else can you do to make
a compelling and valuable video?

People love peeping into other people's lives - the Big Brother effect.
Video blogs are surprisingly popular. So how about showing a bit of what
your life is like - what it means to be an internet marketer, how your life
is better since you embarked on that career. What day to day life is like -
what do you actually DO as a marketer? What toys, freedom, or other
benefits it has provided you and your family.

And of course weave in how the UAW has been instrumental in all that,

Seek to push people's hot buttons, the "gosh, I want that - is it really
that easy? Wow I have to get on board with this" effect.

A good video like this can drive you affiliate commissions as well as
wining the contest.

===================================
GOOD VIDEOS DON'T JUST HAPPEN
===================================

A good video won't just happen. Don't just turn on your web cam and start
talking. Don't just turn on Camtasia and start showing off your sites on
Google.

Plan it out first.

Every good video needs to have these elements:

A hook - "why should I watch / continue to watch this video?"

This is usually done by setting up some emotional hook - curiosity (what's
happening, what happens next), fear (OMG that could happen to me, how do I
prevent it), greed (I want that, how do I get it), humor (ha ha, that is so
funny, lets see if there is more)

A big hook for most internet marketers would be "why am I working so hard
for so little when that guy over there is working way less and earning way
more?"

Protagonists - A good guy and a bad guy. The good guy would be the Wizard.
The bad 'guy' could be the Search Engines, or the amount of time and
expense involved in promoting your site (time that could be better spent
elsewhere). These characters need to be established early in the movie.

The Conflict - "how does the battle between the good guy and bad guy play
out?"

The Climax - the good guy wins - your site climbs up the rankings and pops
into the number one spot.

The Resolution - you ride off into the sunset and enjoy all the free time,
toys, yachts, whatever that you now have. You are now the person that is
working way less and earning way more.

ALL good videos, even 30 second commercials, have all these components in
them. So sit down, do some thinking, plot out a story line, draft a script
... and put it all together!

We wish you the best of luck!

Four wireless security tips to share with clients

Susan Harkins says you should help your clients protect their wireless access. She offers four simple mandates that can go a long way.
—————————————————————————————————————
You probably work hard to protect your clients’ networks, but wireless technologies take security to a completely new level — a lot of which is out of your control. Your best efforts simply aren’t enough.
If your clients are going to utilize wireless technologies, they need knowledge, and they need to take responsibility for engaging that knowledge. You can’t promise them 100% protection, 100% of the time, but you can help them help themselves. Most likely, they’ll be connecting hardware at will without your guidance. When they do, they should follow these four security measures.
#1: Use encryption codes
Encryption codes won’t stop a dedicated hacker, but they’ll send most packing without even trying. Instruct clients to enable encryption on all new Wi-Fi products when prompted during installation.
#2: Change passwords
Most new equipment relies on a built-in, default password for installation. Clients should immediately change the default password after installing the equipment. Then, they should send the username and password to their in-house administrator or you, as appropriate.
#3: Enable firewalls
Clients with a bit of knowledge can disable a firewall — which is a perfect example of a little information being dangerous in the wrong hands. Enable the firewall and check it often. Better yet, have the system alert you if someone attempts to disable it or actually does so. Tell clients not to disable the firewall without your knowledge. Good luck enforcing that, but try just the same.
#4: Restrict outside equipment
This item gets boos and hisses — you just can’t please everyone all the time! Honestly, you don’t want to tie anyone’s hands, but wide-open Wi-Fi is dangerous. Totally block unknown devices from sharing access. Initially, the setup will take a bit of time, but it’s worth it. Force clients to contact you when they want to access the network via new equipment.
Now, in a perfect IT shop, you’d be in total control, and there’d be no problem, but we all know that’s seldom the case. With a little education, you can help users avoid security mishaps where wireless access is concerned.
What are you doing to educate your users with regards to wireless security?

[UAW] - how to build multiple streams of income...

Hi --,

The other day I was having a conversation with a fellow web marketer who
regularly uses the Unique Article Wizard and we were talking about the most
successful strategies for actually marketing on the web and making money.

Well naturally we both still feel that article marketing is the most cost
effective and powerful way to increase any marketer's web presence. As a
matter of fact we have sites that generate us thousands of dollars in net
revenue that do not use PPC or anything other than the Wizard to promote
them. This is by design so that we can monitor in real time that the
Wizard continues to do what we say it does. And it does!

In any case this brought us to the second part of our conversation in that
EVERY successful web marketer we know has multiple streams of income. This
can be through products of their own or by using one of our favorite
strategies – promoting other people's products and services (you must of
course believe fully in the products and services you promote to your
customers otherwise they will not trust you, nor buy anything from you ever
again).

So over the next couple of weeks I am going to give you some KISS (keep it
simple silly) ideas that will help you increase your web marketing
efforts.

The first we will discuss is affiliate promotions.

Yes, you can come up with all of your own product or service ideas, but
why? Why do we always feel we have to try and invent something new to
offer people? Why should you have to do all the marketing research to test
and unknown product? Why take ALL the risk when you don't have to?

Why not just promote a product or service that is already in the
marketplace and one that is proven to already work! And get PAID for it!

You want to be a successful web marketer which generates revenue so that
you can create financial contentment for you and your family. Nowhere does
it say that you have to be an inventor too. This is the number one
downfall of most startup businesses, whether online or in the bricks and
mortar world – people think that their great idea is the one that everyone
wants. Unfortunately that is not always the case.

My point is, why be an inventor when what you truly want to be is a web
marketer. Yes, you can work on your pet project and market that as well,
but wouldn't it be better planning to promote other people's proven
products and services to generate revenue while you are seeing that product
to fruition? Or even to use those dollars to fund its development.

Let's look at an example of promoting someone else's service.

I know this example will look like an obvious effort to promote the Unique
Article Wizard (and it is!) but it is also the best example I can give you
because it is the affiliate program I know best.

1. Do you like what the Wizard does for you? Does it save you time, money
or effort - or all three?
2. Do you use the Wizard to promote your own product or service?
3. Do you converse with other web marketers looking for consistent tools
like the Wizard that keeps up with current trends?
4. Then create an additional stream of income by promoting the Wizard.
You already use and like it, so why wouldn't other marketers?

Look at it this way. Just sign up three others and your own subscription
becomes paid for. Sign up 40 people and you've hit the $1000 per month
mark. And just keep going from there. Not only that, be through our
Affiliate Promotion Extravaganza you can earn 100% commissions on your
referrals! Full details on that are here:

http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/blog/contest/media-upgrades-go-live.html

We have many people who make more every month from their affiliate
commissions from the Wizard than they do from their day job. Ultimately
this gives them the freedom to choose the job they want to do purely for
the enjoyment, not just for the paycheck. You can do this with any number
of products and services, not just ours.

Do we want you to promote the Wizard and generate huge commissions? Sure.
But we also want you to take this strategy and promote other products and
services as well. Because if I asked you what you could realistically and
actually see yourself accomplishing with your next web site - would it be a
site that generates $50,000 a month or one that generates $1000 per month?
I think you would agree it would be the $1000 per month site that is more
readily achievable.

Build 50 of those and you will have accomplished the same thing and most
likely in the same amount of time BUT with the added benefit of not having
all your eggs in one basket - and this is huge because buyers can become
fickle. Protect yourself with multiple streams of income.

Just ask the people who own the product or service you want to promote if
they have an affiliate program. If they do (as the Wizard does), they will
more than likely have a toolbox full of promotional materials and emails
you can use to generate ongoing affiliate commissions for yourself.

If you want some expert coaching in how to earn a massive income by
promoting affiliate products, we highly recommend Anik Singal's Affiliate
Classroom: http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/recommends/affclass.php - in
fact, if you go over there you can get yourself a free course on affiliate
marketing!

Look for the next discussion in this series on drop-shipped products.

To your continued success,

Darren Warmuth
